Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Difficulty: Medium
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts
- 200 g flour
- 2 eggs
- 200 g breadcrumbs (or panko for an extra crispy crust)
- 50 g grated Parmesan (optional)
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Oil for frying (or cooking spray for the oven version)
Instructions:
- Wash and thoroughly dry the chicken breasts. Cut them into evenly sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan, if using.
- Dredge each piece of chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Finally, coat the chicken breasts with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres well.
You can fry them, but if you prefer a healthier option, they can also be baked.
Frying: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches, cooking each side until golden and crispy. Remove and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Baking: Preheat the oven to 200°C (about 400°F). Place the chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray them with cooking spray. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
Serve the crispy chicken breasts with a fresh salad, oven-baked fries, or grilled vegetables. You can also add a sauce of your choice, such as mayonnaise, tzatziki, garlic yogurt sauce, or mustard sauce.
Tips:
For extra flavor, you can add various spices to the breadcrumb mixture, such as thyme, oregano, or smoked paprika. Enjoy!
